Recap of FORSAID’s annual consortium meeting in EPPO’s newsletter for Emerald ash borer experts
The European and Mediterranean Plant Protection Organisation (EPPO) recently published the ninth newsletter for its Network of experts working on surveillance, monitoring and control of the Emerald ash borer. Supported by FORSAID (in which EPPO is a consortium partner), both the output and the organisation behind it help connect “more than 320 members from over 45 countries”. They are all united by a common ambition for increased cooperation in addressing the spread of this forest pest species, a goal supported by the dissemination of information on new developments and innovations via the newsletter.
As in the previous edition, FORSAID merited attention in the latest rundown of news on Agrilus planipennis. More specifically, the first annual consortium meeting of the project was in focus, shedding light on proceedings during the September 2025 gathering in Carcavelos, Portugal. The newsletter thus laid out the series of progress reports that were given on the various work packages of FORSAID as well as the practical demonstrations of innovative technologies that are currently in development by partners.
