EPPO Network releases 8th newsletter on Emerald ash borer surveillance and research

The 8th edition of the newsletter from the EPPO Network of experts on the surveillance, monitoring, and control of the Emerald ash borer (Agrilus planipennis) is now available!

This Network was created by the European and Mediterranean Plant Protection Organization (EPPO) in response to a recommendation made in October 2022 by its Panel on Quarantine Pests for Forestry. It was established as part of a collaborative EPPO-EU initiative and is supported by funding from within the FORSAID project.

Since the release of the 7th edition, the Network coordinator has received valuable feedback from members, along with updates on recent dissertations and scientific publications concerning A. planipennis and related species. These contributions have helped shape the content of the latest issue.

As a FORSAID project partner, EPPO includes a wide range of relevant information in the newsletter. Highlights include recent scientific studies on Agrilus planipennis, updates from the DynaMaps project and details on contingency planning for the pest across EPPO Member Countries.
