FORSAID publishes its first practice abstract on EU CAP Network

The FORSAID project has just published its first practice abstract, titled “Project Presentation”, on EU CAP Network—marking an important milestone in its mission to protect European forests. This first abstract highlights FORSAID’s innovative approach to tackling the growing threat of forest pests using advanced digital technologies.

The abstract is a key step in sharing knowledge with forestry professionals, policymakers and land managers. By summarising the project’s objectives and methods in a clear, practical format, the abstract helps raise awareness of how digital tools like drones, satellite imaging, automated traps and environmental DNA analysis can revolutionise pest monitoring.

This early dissemination is crucial: Europe’s forests are under increasing pressure from pests that cause ecological and economic damage. FORSAID’s work—driven by 17 partners from 10 countries—aims to offer timely, cost-effective solutions that will benefit both nature and the forestry sector.

The practice abstract signals the project’s commitment to practical, scalable outcomes that can be applied on the ground, while also inviting stakeholder engagement from across Europe.
