The FORSAID project has published its second practice Abstract, “Stakeholders’ involvement and needs”, on EU CAP Network, underlining its commitment to real-world impact and collaboration beyond academia.
This new abstract focuses on FORSAID’s multi-actor approach, designed to ensure that the project’s digital innovations for forest pest monitoring directly address the needs of practitioners across Europe. By establishing a Committee of Stakeholders, including forest managers, tree nurseries, policy makers, plant protection agencies and other key actors, the project fosters meaningful dialogue and co-creation of solutions.
The active involvement of stakeholders will guide the project in several ways: identifying practical challenges, shaping the development of AI-powered monitoring tools, providing feedback on field-tested solutions and co-developing deployment guidelines for easier adoption. This collaboration will help bridge the gap between research and practical forestry management, making pest detection more efficient, accessible and scalable.
By engaging end-users early and throughout the project, FORSAID aims to deliver user-driven innovations with lasting value for Europe’s forests.
